In March 2025 the orchestra will perform Chaplin’s Modern Times as part of London Soundtrack Festival. CGS's recent screenings include E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Mica Levi’s Under the Skin, Casablanca, Psycho, Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush, The Cure, Easy Street and The Immigrant, Peter the Wolf, The Snowman, Alex Barrett's new silent film London Symphony, and the premieres of Neil Brand's scores for South, Oliver Twist and Hitchcock's silent thriller The Lodger. Venues include some of London's leading concert venues, such as Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, the Roundhouse, Cadogan Hall, and Milton Court, at festivals such as the Proms at St Jude's and Yorkshire Silent Film Festival, CineCity (the Brighton Film Festival), and at the Everyman Cinema Muswell Hill and the Barbican Cinema.
In addition to performing live to screen, Covent Garden Sinfonia frequently performs concerts of film music, and can be heard on the Criterion Collection DVD/Blu-ray release of The Lodger, and the BFI’s Blu-ray release of South.
